That's a statement for pastors to hear when they teach Gods sheep the congregation, people dont need to be entertained in church, we need to be taught the Word of God for it revives the soul.
- Whatever happened to heeding to the counsel of God
- Whatever happened to saying I am going to take Romans 12 for what it says and not be conformed to the world but be transformed.
All to often you see posts on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter with celebrity pastors encouraging these concerts that include fog machines and lights bouncing all around; and they call it worship. These types of leaders are more concerned about looking cool and taking selfies.
Maybe this is another blog pointing out what the church is doing wrong, or maybe Im a lover of God and realize that Im a sinner saved by grace and so thankful for what Jesus did for me that I realize I dont need all of these ideas to worship Him.
The fog Machine, the lights these elements doesn't make the worship sweeter, its the heart that understands the love and mercy of God. Its the love of Christ that compels us to look to Christ and realize that His blood was shed for our sins.
Christians today need to be challenged to live a sanctified life for the Lord. Those kind of messages are not preached today. People are going to church to be entertained given a nce sermon read form the (Message) translation of the bible and told how good they are.
what that is called is a motivational speech.
That's why the church is trying all these ideas to try and drag people in, but guess what?
They are going to have to continue to come up with mans ideas to keep them there if the Word of God was not doing it in the first place.
What is preached today is to love everyone- which is so true
-but-
Paul also wrote to the Ephesians "He Chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be Holy and without blame before Him in love. Eph 1:4
No one is defining Holiness beside a handful of faithful church's. When the Word of God is taught clearly and accurately we will see a difference in our approach to God
The congregation Gods church must be challenged or we will fall into a careless reverence for who God is.
